Yet again we have an announcement about our most recent entrant, our Counter-Strike:Source-team, who has upgraded the squad, and is 100p. to hit the venue at TheBlast #4 in May.

From today, we must dissmis Denmark Nichlas "Nille" Busk and Denmark Mads "Whammy" Ottosen, and say thank you for their time under us. But the team-captain wasn't without a comment:

"It is already time to make roster changes again. But this time it is for the better, we chose to kick whammy after he did not have the time to play as much as we want, even though he was a great player, but we need as much time as possible for being ready for TheBlast. After that we spoke about the four of us who were left, and I personally talk a lot with Nille, about him and the team. We decided to stop playing together on this team, because the team didn't improve with him, and he didn't improve with us, that was the best way to sort it out.

We are parting our ways as really good mates and we wish both of them the best of luck, I hope that Nille is going to be a beast with his new team! The two new is: Kristian "tabaco" Simonsen and Sebastian "isenbo" Riising. It is two young talents who has shown their worth quite a lot lately, and besides that they are the best mates on the scene. We'd like to put so much time into it, and be really good prepared for TheBlast! We'd like to thank MoD-eSport too, for supporting us once again!"

As it says above the team has taken the next step in the right direction towards TheBlast, with the additions of tabaco and isenbo, we can't wait to see them in action. In the prelude of TheBlast #4, there will be further updates about the team and its progress.

MoD.Counter-Strike:Source is:

Here at Copehagen Games, we catched up with two from our Counter-Strike-team, Janne "Metaphor" Halinen and Jesse "zehN" Linjala, and they are giving their thoughts about the groupstages, and how the event has been running so far.
Below you'll find the interview:

We're definitely looking forward to the tournament to begin, and let's see how the boys will do.

And as you might have seen here on our site earlier today, we got a new team in our roster, a Counter-Strike:Source-team. And Gaming.dk, was so kind to bring up an interview(on Danish) to put some words on how the team came into MoD etc. And you may also tune at their site for an interview with Jacob "Pimp" Winniche.

We're really excited about how the tournament will run tomorrow for both of our teams, so do not hesitate to cheer for them, seating plan is in the link-bar too.

It is only a few weeks ago that we could announce our part ways with our former Counter-Strike:Source-squad, FLYiNG MiNKZ. That is past.
Today we can announce our new squad, former team Blue Elph Gaming, who is going to represent us at the very upcoming Copenhagen Games 2012 tournament, where they are placed in the Low Seedings. And coming into Copenhagen with the first day off wasn't such a bad thing after all, in Jacob "Pimp" Winniche's head:

"After a short stay at Blue Elph, we've now come to agreement with MOD Esport. Blue Elph, and especially ScothcyRAKETE had some problems holding the deals we've had with them, and that is causing the break-up with them. Further details to come soon.. We are happy that MOD has faith us, and we're lookign forward to a good cooperation with them, and hopefully long. We'd like to thank MOD, WooZiie and all the lovely people from MOD."

Also our very own, Jack "WooZiie." Christensen had something to add:

"It is with joy that we can announce our new Counter-Strike:Source team, after saying goodbye to wezx and co.. A lot of teams have shown their interest in MoD, and we truly appreciate it, but we've now found the team that we searched for to represent us - a team who is a part of the top of the Danish Counter-Strike:Source-scene. I'd like to say welcome to the boys, in form of Pimp, Denmark MSL and co.. We're looking forward to a long co-orperation with you! Remember to stay tuned at our site and at our Facebook, a lot will happen during Copenhagen Games!"

The team is 100p. ready to show their worth here at the venue in Copenhagen!
Stay tuned at our site for further information and full coverage for Copenhagen Games, and for exclusive interviews with our players throughout the event. Quick-statuses will be written through our Facebook

MoD-eSport.Counter-Strike:Source will from now on be:

Before we hit the venue at Øksnehallen, Copenhagen, we thought that an interview with one of our players would be appropriate.

Banner of CS 1.6 lineup

In this interview we are going to hear what is up and down at the moment on the scene, just an inch of LanTrek and of course the main concern, Copenhagen Games this April.

Hello Joel, some of our readers may not know you, can you just give us a small introduction of yourself?
Hello, I'm Joel Aaltonen aka jonkkis, a 19-year-old fellow from Helsinki and I'm playing for MoD-eSport's CS1.6 squad with mkzz, Metaphor, zehn and tomsku.

Okay. Before we come to the team-part, I'd like to ask you about any hobbies besides playing competetive Counter-Strike?
Not really "hobbies", except I like to go jogging now and then. Used to play different sports for years though but eventually quitted everything. I also work part-time and I'm trying to get my ass to university so I try to read as much as possible too.

Jogging.. So we'll see you jog around the venue at Copenhagen Games?
Haha I think I'll just focus on CS there.

I don't think THAT would be inappropriate :-). Coming into the subject, Events, I'd like to ask you what's your feelings about getting invited to the biggest gather-tournament in the world, gathering CS, CS:S, SC2 and much more.
Well of course I feel happy about it, but it's not so big deal since there are worse teams and even mixteams invited. I think the qual tournament will be pretty low-leveled so I think it wouldn't have been a problem either but at least we have a free Thursday in Copenhagen now and I'm happy about it.

A lot of mix-teams has been invited, do you think that they can overtake a top-teams place? And if, do you see it as a problem? And coming into the teams, who do you see as the strongest? At the moment it could be ESC after their win in Hannover, but do you think that they can overcome teams like semXorah, SK or Na`Vi once again?
I don't consider mixteams a threat when playing at LAN and I can't see any mixteam winning a topteam there. I think the tournament will be a fight between ESC, Na'Vi and SK, at least semXorah won't have any chances in my opinion. And of course we are trying to reach the top too.

Okay. To turn it just an inch to the sad, on the scale: What are you thoughts about Patrick "cArn" Sättermon's retirement? How much has it affected the scene in your opinion, and do you think it has something to say at Copenhagen Games?
Of course it's a sad thing when a world-known pro player quits but meanwhile it's a natural thing to retire when you reach such age. I think fnatic's gonna have a hard time finding a good replace for him.

It is very natural. But being witnessing the biggest legend ever, and the biggest rolemodel for eSport, is definitely not something which is happening every day. To come back from the sad thing; we skipped every sign of an interview after LanTrek, even though we actually planned to do, and let's just take it now. How was the event? Both the event as itself and how the tournament ran in your opinion.
It was a pretty smooth 2-day-event with 10 Finnish mixteams, us and WinFakt. The group and first playoff games were pretty easy wins for us and WinFakt so we finally met in the grand final of bo3. We got a pretty good start on inferno by leading 5:0 but eventually lost the map by 16:11. Nothing to add to that. After a small break we jumped into tuscan, the 2nd map, and all of us were hitting our shots pretty good, eventually finishing the first half (as CT) by 11:4 for us. We also managed to win the T pistol, their ecoround and even the first gunround making the score to 14:4. And that's were the problems started, we lost the next round when they got deagles and famases and after that some rounds more. We were leading at some point by 15:12 but then lost maybe the most important round on the T side because one of us got stuck on some wall/box whatsoever and couldn't recover from that. We lost the rest of the rounds and the extra rounds by 2:4 making the final score for tuscan 17:19. We placed 2nd at the event and got 500€ while WinFakt took home 1000€.

After coming home from LanTrek, Finland tomsku travelled to Thailand for quite some time, how do you feel about your preperation for Copenhagen Games?
Well we have already played for some time now (and gained some nice results) and we have a lot of time ahead so I think our preparation will be great!

Okay, sounds great! In you mind, what could be a realistic top4?
1. Na`Vi
2. SK
3. ESC
4. Lions

Okay, were do you see yourself at? Are you coming close to the podiums or what is your thoughts?
I don't want to set any goals for us. We will prepare well, try our best and go game by game and we'll see how far we can go with that. This is our first big international LAN so it's very hard to guess how it'll go.

Fair enough. This interview has come to an end, the last words are yours, use them wisely!
Thanks to you for making the interview, let's hope we can put our best in CPH Games. Also thanks to our sponsors: SpeedGaming, Spire-Corp and our partner GamersUniform.

Joel also gives us his opinion about who will go home with the prize, and the honor on Sunday, the 8th of April. More informations and news about the upcomming event will be revealed at our Facebook page, so check it out, via the link below!
